Nocturnal Visions is a film inspired by the artist’s recent personal journey of love. Using water as a metaphor for human feeling; Estrada constructs an emotional landscape and paints it with a cloud of colored ink, representing the dark undercurrent in the depth of every person’s experience of life and love. Sequentially, within each new visual, a different stage of love is depicted: hope, awakening, melting, addiction, chaos, devastation, surrender, and rebirth. The flowers, symbolic of beauty and purity, are captured during the moment of transformation as they interact with their environment. It begins light, airy, and free, symbolic of the first flutters of innocent romantic sentiments, morphing into the abstract and complex emotional currents. Meanwhile, sentimental creatures navigate an underwater galaxy, moving through sorrow and despair, emerging finally into the light.
