What Happened to Twister? is a surreal, color-drenched speculation on the loss of physical play, human intimacy, and analog wonder in an era dominated by performance, screens, and synthetic connection.

This series draws from childhood memories, internet culture, and questions of identity in a digital world. Using body paint, pom-poms, yarn creatures, glitter, and artificial parts, the images explore the strange space where our real selves and online personas begin to merge. Each image dances between satire and sincerity—highlighting the increasingly absurd lengths we go to in order to be seen, validated, and remembered by an ever-scrolling audience.

The Twister mat serves as an analogy. Once a game of physical closeness—laughing, falling, tangled limbs—it now feels like a relic of real connection. In this context, it becomes something else: a flattened stage for self-presentation. A space where joy is curated, not felt.

These characters—glamorous, camouflaged, entertaining—embody the modern psyche: hyper-visible yet deeply isolated, curated but unraveling, constantly connected but completely alone. Over time, they dissolve into the yarn creatures—soft, colorful, faceless forms signaling total immersion in the digital matrix. No persona left, just performance. The pom-poms, like oversized pixels, hint at how identity has been broken down into fragments—bright, addictive, and ultimately empty.

This series is both a farewell to analog joy and a reminder of what we’re missing. It asks, plainly:

Who are we performing for —and what did we lose when we stopped playing together?
